Recru.
Summary
Recru is a mobile and web app that helps students through sorority and fraternity recruitment and gives the schools that run it a self-service way to manage the whole process. Launched on the App Store in May 2026, growing across multiple universities with zero paid advertising.
Notable Achievements
95 accounts and 78 active users across several schools, all organic
Inbound interest from recruitment leaders at University of Houston, Cal Poly SLO, Eastern Kentucky, UTSA, and San Diego State after one outreach post
A single Instagram repost from UCF's Panhellenic council drove a 6-8x spike in signups in one day
First alternate to the Joust New Ventures Competition semifinalists via the UCF Upstarts incubator
The Business
Recru makes sorority and fraternity recruitment less chaotic. Every year thousands of students go through recruitment to join a chapter, and it's a stressful, disorganized week run mostly on paper and group chats. Recru gives those students one place to learn about the chapters at their school, track where they are in the process, take notes after each round, ask questions anonymously, and connect with others going through it. On the other side, the student leaders who run recruitment get a dashboard to manage their own chapter info, events, photos, and Q&A, which means new schools can onboard without any custom development on my end. I built and ran the whole thing: product, engineering, school partnerships, and growth.
The Market
Roughly 750,000+ students are involved in Greek life across more than 800 college campuses in the US, with hundreds of thousands going through recruitment every year. Right now, most of that process runs on spreadsheets, paper packets, and Instagram, with no dedicated tool built for it. Recru is going after that gap, starting with sorority recruitment and expanding to fraternities and informal recruitment. The growth model is council-driven: when a trusted Panhellenic account shares Recru, students download it, which makes each new school a low-cost, repeatable channel.
Objective/Future (Use of funds)
The Team
Senior IT student at UCF and the solo founder of Recru. I built and launched the app myself (React Native, TypeScript, Expo, Firebase) and run product, engineering, school partnerships, and growth end to end. Came up through the UCF Upstarts venture incubator and placed as first alternate to the Joust New Ventures Competition semifinalists.

Growth Roadmap
Now to fall 2026: Grow Recru across schools already onboarding ahead of fall recruitment, using council and Panhellenic shares as the main distribution channel. Launch the Council/Chapter admin tier as the first paid product.
2027: Expand to 15+ paying schools, launch the Android app and the COB hub (Continuous Open Bidding), and roll out Student Plus. Begin formal fundraising.
2028: Scale to 50+ paying schools, add alumnae and big/little tools to keep users engaged after they join a chapter, and build out the team beyond founder.
2029: 120+ paying schools, expand into fraternity recruitment nationally, and establish Recru as the default platform for Greek life recruitment.
